5/23 - W - IRAs 11

Flagpole to 20 strokes past big bridge, 3 times, then 1 30 stroke piece. It was a good practice. Joe Lo crabbed 3 times, twice over the head, just as we were starting to take our warm up 10s. Absolutely hilarious. He hasn't been rowing since Vails, a week and a half. We did pretty well for having him thrown in, I guess that's to be expected since it was only one change. Lightweight women and the pair never stood a chance. We started down every piece and walked all the way through usually. There were some good finishes against the senior four but w/ our lack of coxswain and Joe, we moved on them slowly. The last piece might have remained even. We were a bit jittered because I'd barely decapitated us in some trees. I've never gone up the boathouse-side shore. No damage done to shell or rowers so it's okay. This length of work was good for us, it's been a while since we did anything longer at race pace. It'd be nice to have Joe, but alas Italy calls him home. Let's hope Smeglin will come out and be mentally straight.
